It's April 26th already. While I can't say that I've inherited a mess, exactly, there is quite a bit to do. So, I will be doing that. Pico Day is on April 30th, if you're into Newgrounds themed suchkabobs. Meanwhile, I'm waiting until after Pico Day to release a new short- my final exam before I'm completely unleashed into this Hell known as the Internet.

Hello-
As of April 26th 2011, I will be assuming the role of Nihil at Nihil & Rat. Over the past several months, I have become familiarized with the systems, methods, and aesthetics of this organization, as established by the former Nihil and by Mrs. Rat. Under her guidance, I have been trained in the basic requirements needed to fulfill my responsibilities here.
While I cannot say that everything will be exactly as it has been, I will do my best to make this transition as seamless as possible... but I do ask that you please bear with me as I acclimate myself to my new position. I apologize in advance for any fits of alienation or confusion I may create as I attempt to integrate myself into my predecessor's already-established network.
Though I realize this may be of substantial unimportance to most of you, I felt it was best to announce myself now. For the next few weeks, I will be handling some important behind-the-scenes issues as we finalize the transfer of power, but if you have any comments or questions in the meantime, I am currently receiving emails at mrnihil [at] nihil-and-rat [dot] com

ohps... there has long since been a youtube version of our madness cartoon for madness day on youtuba. the framerate makes it shit, though, see for yourself by SEEING IT. several of the split second effects are lossed due to the crappiness of video and of youtubes versus something like, say, NEWGROUNDS, where you can watch the cartoon the way the Mayans intended you too, with a shadowy cat in your periphery... but no, there's no cat there at all... turn and look again. all you see is nothing.... oooooooaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

when internet celebrity RedHarvest asked me to make something for his unconventional Madness Collab, i didn't really want to do it. but Mrs. Rat did, and she talked me into it. i've watched all of two Madness cartoons (one while working on this one), and i don't know much about it, but this is what we came up with. watch it HERE, on this site, for the extended credits version. or watch it on Newgrounds, as part of a collab. there's also a youtube version, just not at this moment.

Well, shit, no updates in 5 months. Some page of announcements this turned out to be. Some fine kettle o' fish of announcement fish, THIS!! fcuk and gadzooks. This doesn't mean we ain't not doin' shit not all, though. There's things and stuff about. There were a couple of new comics no one probably saw, both based on movies no one cares about. There've been some stories going on over at the New Absurdist, which also show up here, under the Stories & Such link. There were some new drawings on deviantart and newgrounds, too, I'm not linking those, wotever.

Yes, i can get sick, but only from the latest designer viruses, which i subject myself to every year or so in order to stay a step ahead of science. Setting up a Wordpress was so much fun, we set up a Comicpress and a second Wordpress. Now we don't have to reconfigure a bunch of pages and do a lot of wotnot to expand our inventory of free things you love or hate. What fun. All of our old comics are now easily found, including my favourite, Creeping Baby. The gallery is currently empty, but we'll add to it over the next few days.

Mrs. Rat did a bit of work and set up a Wordpress blog here on Nihil & Rat. there's not really much to say, then. i think we'll be using it for all kinds of site updates and production notes, for those who may be interested in such things. this index page will still serve as the front page... but for those wanting some silly amount more, we do have such silliness, which we will keep making and put them.

As some moronic "hiker " might say, we've been on a "world wind" tour through the innards of Nihil & Rat dot com lately. First, Mrs. Rat has asserted that i use a capital letter at the start of my sentences, for readability reasons, so now our movie reviews and craps have caps. Great. We've added a section labeled "Other Reviews, " which is currently for books. But it doesn't say Book Reviews because other stuff falls under "Other. "
There's a new banner and new graphics, the links to other sites have been updated, our bios have been updated, an Origin of Nihil & Rat was added, Padre Elephante made a February wallpaper calendar, and i wrote about Wal-Mart being one of the circles of hell. All of this activity might make it look like we're suddenly more active than ever before, and though that is because we are, you shouldn't pretend or assume that we are, because you don't know us or what we're capable of not doing.
If you missed it, we're on Deviant art, Twitter, and Goodreads now. Don't bother asking us to join Facebook, because we won't. Expect a new cartoon next month, i bet. For 2010, we have become the new young entrepreneurs, however our business model still seems to consist of giving everything away for free and believing the money will somehow still roll in.
