A Dinosaur Story

Posted by Nihil. 2 Comments

i had a bad habit of having bad habits.

Newgrounds is having a Robot Day on July 10th.  i was pretty sure we were doing something for that, since i’ve been sitting on a 6 part robot cartoon for a few years.  but then we wrote something, accidentally, that we may make instead.

there’s always a lot of ideas, not a lot of action here.

Book Review: Tales from the Vinegar Wasteland

Posted by Nihil. No Comments

as the ancient philosophers said “ask for something and get stuff.”  following Mrs. Rat’s last post, someone got her hooked on MGO, which has led to a decline in general other activities.  so, thanks for that, guy.  with my newfound free time, i read Tales from the Vinegar Wasteland, by Ray Fracalossy.  you can read the review HERE, but you should maybe just read the actual book, it’s good.

i’m writing the next Tree Again, waiting for Mrs. Rat to maybe help, and we have a few other scripts, so maybe something will happen.

Games: Bigger, Better, Buggier

Posted by Mrs. Rat. No Comments

I started playing Assassin’s Creed 2, and the game seems a little buggier than Nihil let on.  It was easy to laugh when he’d miss his jump, and fall awkwardly to the ground, but now I’m seeing that the game seems to be at fault (partially, at least).  It’s a little early for me to rate the game, tho I did watch N play it, and I think that over-all, it’s really a pretty good package.  I’m actually the one who played the first game, since N was waiting for Uriel to be around so they could gay-play it, and I like parkour and cloak and dagger too much to not have played it myself… AC2 is a step up, tho in a lot of ways, it still feels pretty similar to the original.

These little issues are probably due to the scope of the project- so, while Metal Gear Solid 4 may look and run better, Snake can’t run around on absolutely everything.  The trade-off works for me, but I hope they can iron out some of the bugs in the next game.  Last night, I tried to drop from a roof onto a flag-pole, or somesuch, and Ezio got stuck.  We recorded it, so after I get the video set up, one of us will post it.

Heavy Rain was a little buggy, too.  As was God of War 3, based on the yelling at the game I heard.  Is this the new paradigm?  Bigger, better, buggier games?

[spoilerish alert]

God of War 3 was pretty disappointing, by the way.  I think N liked it more than I did, but after sitting through the previous two games, this one seemed like the weakest link.  Kratos is totally unlikeable, and his “vengeance” against the Gods makes no sense.  The Gods helped him quite a bit.  Kratos is a belligerent ass.  The ending was fairly lame, too.  Hope?  A cliff-hanger for the man without an intact spine?  I do not approve.  The fights were cool, tho.  Bah.  This game was over-hyped.

I need a new, interesting game.  Any suggestions?

Weird bone bump

Posted by Nihil. No Comments

do you ever just find parts of your bones that seem like they’re boney in the wrong ways?  like there’s some extra bone-ness to them?  i found one by my knuckle.  it feels sort of like there’s a BB in there, but it’s not a BB.  it doesn’t move around, it’s bone-like.  i can’t tell if it’s sore because it’s wrong, or because i’m poking at it and jamming my fingers into it, like it will somehow give up its secrets if i continue to do so.

what kind of secrets do bones keep?  bones is still on the air.  David Boreanaz.  Boreanaz.  he played Angel in the show Angel.  a lot of people liked that show.  do the same people like Bones?  what season is this for Bones?  5?  it seems like it’s been on for a long time.  when it first aired, the promos said it was based on the true stories of an actual Bones.  i wonder if they’ve given up on that, and just make up Bones Adventures.

Bones Adventures would be a good kids show.  the Bones Adventures i just made up, not the show Bones retitled Bones Adventures.  kids aren’t interested in forensic nonsense.  Bones Adventures sounds like maybe it’s about a pirate.  a green skeleton pirate, with maybe red flame for hair.  and he could dress in red pirate clothes.  i picture him in the crow’s nest, looking around with a scope.  but why would the captain be in the crow’s nest?

oh, also, he’s the captain.  Captain Bones.  there probably is a Captain Bones already.  Cap’n Bones.  like Cap’n Hands.  like the bone in my hand.  it doesn’t seem sore now.  i must have been poking it too much.

pokemon is still on, early in the morning.  Ash is like 30, now.  and still chasing pokemon.  i’m not surprised they keep making new pokemon shows, but i’m a little surprised.  a lot of people type “surprise” as “suprise.”  i think it’s because when people say surprise, it sounds a bit like suprise, and so people think it’s spelt suprise.  see what i did there?

point proven.

people think proven isn’t a word.  ok, some people, not all people.

Lemon Demon.  what ever happened to him?  The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny just popped onto my shuffle… awesome.

The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny

wow, 2005…
